MCDCA introduces Professional Development Workshops
June 17, 2019
Since 2012 the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts has provided opportunities for amateurs in the cultural industry to refine their skills through the Mentoring by the Masters Programme. To date, over 550 persons have benefitted from this insightful programme which facilitates a transfer of knowledge and best practices in various cultural disciplines including music production, festival development, mas making and more .
On Friday 14th June, the MCDCA took its mentorship portfolio a step further by inviting creative practitioners to apply for its Professional Development Workshops. This initiative shares a similar objective with the Mentoring by the Masters Programme, but focuses on enhancing the business potential of creative entrepreneurs. Three successful veterans of the culture and arts industry will facilitate these workshops during the month of July. These are Lisa Wickham (Film and Media), Christopher Cozier (Contemporary Visual Art), and Heather Jones (Fashion).
The Professional Development Workshops will be held during the month of July, and interested participants are invited to apply via the Ministry’s website, www.cdca.gov.tt. The deadline for applications is June 24th, and persons can contact the Artist registry at 225-4023 exts 4058-4063.
